Korean Short Ribs

Am I the only person who recently discovered ALDI?  I’m in love with this grocery store.  They have a variety of organic food options and did I mentioned the prices.  It originated in Germany in 1946 by two brothers, Karl and Theo Albrecht.  The business split into two divisions, ALDI SUD and ALDI NORD.  Have you heard of the hip and trendy TRADER JOES?  That’s ALDI NORD.  Enough about the history of ALDI, lets get into what I found.  As you can tell from my recipes, I love Korean food and they sell three pre-packaged bottles of Cook House’s Korean Style BBQ Sauce, Korean Style Bulgogi Sauce and Korean Style Gochujang Sauce.

I purchased the Korean Style BBQ sauce and I’ll be the first to be a little apprehensive but was I sure wrong.  This pre-made Korean Style BBQ sauce is delicious and has all the flavors of the original.  Don’t get me wrong, nothing beats the original but this comes pretty close.  It’s gluten free but does contain soy.

It’s getting colder in Minnesota with the crisp, bite air, but last weekend, there was some sun and I decided to grill outdoors since this might be one of my last chances to bbq before we start seeing snow.  This by far is the easiest Korean short ribs I’ve ever made.  All you do is marinate the meat with the Korean Style BBQ sauce, sliced onions and minced garlic and let it marinate for at least two hours.

Grill the short ribs to your liking.

I love this Korean Style BBQ sauce.  If you are short on time and don’t want to fuss around you must try Cook House’s Korean Style BBQ Sauce.  It’s smack, lickin’ good!  It has a tint of spiciness with the right amount of saltiness and sweetness which makes the perfect umami combo!  I loved it so much, I went back and purchased all three of their pre-made sauces and can’t wait to try the other two products.  This isn’t a paid sponsorship.  I just love this sauce and wanted to share.
