Chicken Lo Mein Recipe

You’ll never want to order Chinese take-out again! You can make it at home for your family or bring it to a potluck party. Everyone will be raving about this recipe.

Ingredients
  • 1 lbs. chicken
  • 6 ounces of dry Chinese egg noodles or 1 package of fresh Chinese egg noodles
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 2-3 small bok choy
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 green onions
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 2 tsp dark soy sauce
  • 2 TBS oyster sauce
  • 2 TBS light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 TBS water
  • 1 TBS shao hsing cooking wine
  • 2 TBS corn starch
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Sesame seeds
  • 2-3 TBS cooking oil
Instructions
  1. Follow directions on package of dry/fresh egg noodles.
  2. Chop/Slice red pepper, bok choy, onions and green onion.
  3. Mince garlic and ginger.
  4. In a bowl, mix oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, sesame oil and water.
  5. Slice the chicken into strips, add salt, shao hsing cooking wine and corn starch.

    Now that you have everything prepared, let’s start cooking.

  6. In a large pan or wok, on medium high add 2 TBS cooking oil and cook your chicken until its cooked through. Remove from pan.
  7. Add 1 tsp of cooking oil in same pan and add garlic and ginger. Add small onion, carrots, red bell pepper and bok choy for 2 minutes and add your cooked chicken and add 1-2 tsp of sauce.
  8. Add egg noodles and add the sauce gradually to make sure all noodles are coated with sauce.
  9. Add black pepper and green onions and turn off stove.

    Serve in a bowl or plate and top with sesame seeds.
