This weekend was the perfect weather for ice-cream so my nieces and I had to try MilkJam Creamery in Minneapolis. It was a must try on my summer list especially after watching the INSIDER’s video. Of course, I ordered the 16 flavor sundae platter crushed with waffle cones and adorn with their delectable toppings. Their flavors are elegant made with exotic spices that exudes a fun and whimsical ambience.
My favorites were the UMA THURMAN made of greek yogurt with passion fruit lychee swirls. The tang from the greek yogurt and the sweetness of passion fruit lychee were the perfect combination of yin and yang. The MAHALO is made of pineapple sherbet. It tasted exactly like a tropical island with it’s natural sugariness. The DOO WOP is made of avocado and lychee. The avocado is luscious, rich and luxurious and has a velvety texture along with a hint of lychee. The TURKISH COFFEE TOFFEE is made with cardamom coffee with toffee bits that screams “I MUST TRAVEL FOR TURKISH COFFEE.” I am a coffee lover! The THAI TEA is made with black tea and condense milk. The only thing missing was the boba. The TOASTED COCONUT was definitely a contender for my top 2 flavors and tasted exactly like an almond joy minus the chocolate. These are just a few of the many flavors on their menus. It took us on an adventure of spices around the world and isn’t your typical vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream but equally as delicious as the traditional flavors that won’t disappoint.
I also got a scoop of their POPPIN BOTTLES on the side made of champagne sorbet with sprinkles. This was definitely my least favorite. I am bias since I don’t like the taste of alchohol. This was the first time I had to show my photo ID at an ice cream parlor so if you plan on trying this flavor expect to be carded like the good old clubbing days.
Make sure to bring lots of people with you on this food adventure. My nieces and I had a lovely afternoon tasting and evaluating the different flavors and already have it on our list to go back to taste their JAM BUN sandwich is made with Glam Doll Donuts. The cost for the 16 flavor sundae platter and extra scoop of ice cream came to $72.
